EZ Strap Edger by Weaver Leather

Are you edging one strap to 100 straps? If so, you need this timesaving machine! It allows you to edge all four edges of your straps at once to reduce your time spent and labor costs. Each roll features 12 cutting blades (six on each side). Rotating the blades and switching the side the roll is on reduces the need to re-sharpen frequently.

Professional Leather Edge Paint #2810

Leather edge paint Section Lacquers offers a pleasing matte finish to the edges of handbags, belts and leather goods in general, giving an extremely smooth and sealed look. It provides excellent adhesion to leather, a very high level of rub resistance and very resistant to cracking during flex testing. Apply by hand or machine with one or two coats, according to the degree of absorbency of the leather. It dries rapidly and the adhesion is excellent even on leathers that have closed pores or with little absorbency. Preferred adhesion is achieved at 48 hours after application. Given that it has a very good viscosity, it is less likely to drip during application than thinner edge paints. You can order Professional Leather Edge Paints here: http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/2810-550.aspx?ip=true Interested in more video leathercraft instruction? Making a leather edge burnishing tool.

This is how I make a burnishing wheel out of a 100% wool pad(sometimes used as saddle pad). I made the hole cutter out of a 2" gal. pipe and grinned and sharpened the edge to near razor sharpness. Center punch is 1/2". The motor mandrel can be purchased at any hardware store. Once you bevel and shape the edges on your item and then apply edge dye, you then can use the burnishing tool to slick it till its like glass. This is the professional look of quality. Thanks for watching. Richard Black BlacksLeather@att.net

Leather Burnishing with Pro Edge Burnishers

I recently received a beautiful pair of cocobolo leather burnishers from Richard Loy at Pro Edge Burnishers (http://www.proedgeburnishers.com). Until a few days prior, I'd been burnishing with an assortment of make-do tools, including home-made burnisher from the wooden dowel of a 1" sponge paint brush, the plastic burnisher from Tandy, as well as Tandy's wooden hand burnisher. All were capable of producing nicely burnished edges, within their own constraints. That being said, these Pro Edge Burnishers are a HUGE upgrade!! Not only are they beautiful to look at, they're a joy to use. Being that the majority of my hand tools originated from an old Tandy kit, it's nice to finally start adding some quality tools to my collection. I highly recommend!
